For the second consecutive year, senior defender Emily Schum (East Hanover, N.J. / Morris Catholic) of The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team earned Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) All-American honors as she was selected to the Second Team in 2022 after garnering Third Team accolades in 2021.
Schum marks the 23rd student-athlete in Scranton history to earn All-American honors in multiple years and the first in women's lacrosse program history.
The senior led the Royals to its sixth straight Landmark Championship game this season and helped her squad to an overall record of 13-6.
Schum led the Landmark Conference in caused turnovers with 45, while recording a team-high 57 ground balls and 85 draw controls. Her 45 caused turnovers ranked in a tie for 15th in the country in Division III women's lacrosse this season.
This follows Schum earning her 2nd Landmark Defensive Player of the Year honors as well as a spot on the First Team All-Conference for the 3rd time. Most recently, the senior garnered her 3rd IWLCA All-Boardwalk Region honors as a First Team selection.
