NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - On October 18th, Brea Joseph, 22, of Jersey City, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, driving while suspended and several other summonses during a motor vehicle stop on Mountain Avenue.  She was released with a pending Municipal Court date.  

During the weekend of October 17th and October 18th, six political signs were stolen from residences.  The locations of the signs were on Colchester Road, Hawthorne Drive, Elkwood Avenue, Commonwealth Avenue and Central Avenue.  If anyone has information about these thefts, please contact Sgt. On October 16th, Evan Bucksar, 28, of Florham Park was charged with stalking, terroristic threats, and harassment.  The charges stem from several reports a resident made that Mr. Bucksar was harassing the victim and a family member over social media since May of 2019.  The harassment then progressed into alarming threats and ultimately, Mr. Bucksar threatening to harm the victim and a family member.  A warrant was issued for Mr. Bucksar’s arrest.  He turned himself in at the police department and where he was taken into custody.  Mr. Bucksar was transported to the Union County Jail with a pending court date.

On October 14th, it was reported that an apartment residence along Mountain Ave., had items stolen from within premise.  The resident of the apartment had passed away earlier this year and when the family had begun to clear the apartment, many of the items belonging to the deceased were removed.  The Detective Bureau is investigating this report.

On October 13th, a Springfield Avenue business reported shoplifting over $3,000 of over the counter allergy medications from shelves and a storage room.  The Detective Bureau is investigating this report.  

On October 13th, Matthew Guerrier, 22, of Piscataway was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended and several other summonses during a motor vehicle stop on Springfield Avenue.  He was released with a pending court date.

On October 12th, Charles Arocho, 24, of North Arlington was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended during a motor vehicle stop on Mountain Avenue.  He was released with a pending Municipal Court date.
