BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater Township Police are investigating a number of burglaries to unlocked vehicles at the beginning of October, according to this week's police blotter.

  • According to the report, at 6:07 a.m. Oct. 3, a white male was seen on video surveillance going into two unlocked vehicles as they were parked in a driveway on Union Avenue. According to the report, the suspect took a laptop, Chromebook and power tools from the vehicles.
  • A Milltown Road resident reported that, between 2 p.m. Oct. 6 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 7, his unlocked vehicle was burglarized. A key to the vehicle and change were taken.
  • According to a report, at 9:45 a.m. Oct. 7, a white or Hispanic male, about 40 to 50 years old, shoplifted power tools from Home Depot, on Promenade Boulevard. Store security confronted him, but he fled before police arrived.
  • Huseyin Serenli, 49, of Bedminster, was arrested for shoplifting from the Home Depot, on Promenade Boulevard, at 12:20 p.m. Oct. 9, after he was found with $48.86 worth of merchandise. He was processed and released pending a court date.
  • According to a report, an unknown male stole an unlocked vehicle from the driveway of a residence on Beaumonte Way after the keys were left in the car at 4:10 a.m. Oct. 11. The vehicle was found in Newark on Oct. 12.
