More than ever, we need leaders who are honest, seasoned, tenacious, and effective. In the Fourth Congressional District, that leader is Chris Smith.
Here in New Jersey, there are numerous signs of Chris Smith’s legendary legislative effectiveness. On the economy, he has supported all the Coronavirus relief laws, including the Paycheck Protection Program that is helping more than 157,000 New Jersey small businesses and their employees survive the pandemic. He has fought for and successfully protected thousands of local jobs through his efforts to save and grow the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
He was among the first, if not the first, to expose and combat the prevalence of autism. He has written and passed four laws to help children and families with autism—in New Jersey 1 in 32 children has autism—and his most recent law authorized $1.8 billion for research and early intervention.
New Jersey is also a hotspot for Lyme disease—and again it is Chris Smith who is leading the charge against chronic Lyme. On Alzheimer’s disease, he cofounded and leads the congressional caucus that has helped quadrupled funding for new treatments.
Chris Smith, former chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee, knows a strong national defense and firm U.S. policy—based on human rights and the rule of law—is needed to protect our democracy. He has been forthrightly warning us about China human rights abuses and lopsided trade deals, for two decades.
In turbulent times as these, we need experienced and proven leadership. We need to reelect Chris Smith.
