New Providence is a proud, strong, welcoming, caring and compassionate town.  It is a community comprised of individuals who eagerly give of themselves in order to make a positive contribution.  Participation in one of our many community organizations, boards, committees, schools, athletic teams or volunteering time on our Fire Department or Rescue Squad are just some of the many ways good and generous residents have helped to make our community what it is today.

Participating in our local government is another manner in which residents choose to serve this special community that we all love.  This year, we have three individuals who are seeking two seats on our New Providence Borough Council.  All three of these individuals are to be commended for their years of service to the community and their desire to continue to serve.

In order to evaluate the candidacy of these three individuals, I believe one should look at the experience, background, skill sets, connection to the community and vision that each would bring to the office.

Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

After careful analysis, I believe that the individuals that would best serve our community on Council are Councilman Robert Munoz and Michele Matsikoudis.

As a New Providence Borough Council Member for 9 years, Councilman Munoz has displayed a record of results.  He has a commitment to public safety.  Specifically, he was integrally involved with the creation of the state of the art dispatch center that helps to protect our community.  Rob also played a role in leading improvements to the fields which our community enjoys.  As an Attorney, Councilman Munoz strong legal background coupled with his steady leadership makes him a valued member of Council.

Michele Matsikoudis also has a long history of involvement in our community.  This includes serving as President of the New Providence PTA and member of the Community Activities Advisory Board. Michele’s background also includes many years in business where she successfully motivated team members to reach their goals. Michele is filled with energy and eager to take on challenges.  There is no doubt, she will have a positive impact on Council.

Please join me on November 5th in supporting both Rob and Michele.
