SPARTA, NJ- The driveway at Starbucks at North Village has been a problem since it opened about a year and a half ago. Cars in the drive through of the popular coffee place back up causing a traffic jam in the parking lot, even backing up to Route 15.
The township began implementing a temporary fix on Friday, according to Sparta Police Cpl. Kurt Morris of the Traffic Division. Patrons will find a modified traffic pattern with 'certified flaggers' to direct people to the line.
A permanent solution is still being worked out, according to Sparta Police Chief Neil Spidaletto. Morris said the township engineer Stan Puszcz of CP Engineering is putting together the details with CC Holdings, the North Village developer.
The plan to modify the parking lot permanently will need to be approved by the township planning board Morris said. The timeline for the permanent change has not been announced.
