SUMMIT, NJ - In a November 30 letter to the "Summit Public Schools Community" -- subsequently obtained by TAPinto Summit -- from Superintendent of Schools Scott Hough and Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School Principal Dr. Donna Gallo, the Summit Public School District has disclosed that an "individual" from the middle school has tested positive for COVID-19.
There have now been to 58 known reported cases of COVID-19 in the Summit Public Schools.
The letter stated, "The District has been notified that an individual from Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School has tested positive for COVID-19. Our Nursing Department, in collaboration with the Department of Health, conducted contact tracing and did not identify any potential close contacts at the school. Health officials did not recommend closing the school."
