HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ --  Hamilton Township Police are asking the public for any information regarding an incident on Friday afternoon, February 26 during which shots rang out. According to the Hamilton Township Police Division, they were dispatched to the first block of Coral Drive -- a residential neighborhood in the Mercerville section of the Township -- on a robbery investigation that included the discharge of a handgun.

At the scene, responding officers were met by a male and female victim who reported that they were approached by a black male allegedly brandishing a handgun as the pair exited their vehicle.  They claim that the male suspect demanded money and a backpack from the victims.

During a struggle between the victims and suspect, a gun discharged. Then, the male suspect fled the scene on foot with a second suspect; both of them went in the direction of Alton Road.

The first suspect is described as a black male five feet eight inches tall wearing a black hoodie, and gray face mask. He allegedly displayed a semi-automatic handgun. The second suspect is described as a taller black male, wearing a tan or yellow hoodie, and a black face mask.

Neither of the victims sustained gunshot injuries.

Anyone with information about the accident which is under investigation is asked to contact Hamilton Police Crime Investigations Detective Nicholas Schulte (609) 689-5825 or via email at nschulte@hamiltonpd.org. Information also can be left anonymously on the Hamilton Police Crime Tip Hotline at (609) 581-4008.
