RARITAN, NJ - Police officers from Raritan, Bridgewater and Hillsborough, and local residents, gathered in Raritan Thursday night for a moment of silence honoring fallen Officer Brian Sicknick, who died from injuries sustained in the attack at the Capitol in Washington D.C Jan. 6.
Sicknick was a New Jersey native who died Jan. 7 at 9:30 p.m.
Felix Ciattarelli, brother of gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli, organized the ceremony, which included a four-minute moment of silence, beginning at 9:30 pm.
A picture of Sicknick was placed on a Raritan police car that was parked at Veterans Park, on Somerset Street, in his honor. The picture was signed by each officer in attendance and will be sent to Sicknick's family.
All social distancing precautions were followed.
