LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston Mayor Shawn Klein recently joined West Orange Mayor Robert D. Parisi and Gov. Richard J. Codey in cutting the ceremonial ribbon at the Sai Hira Ram Trust Hindu Temple of Worship in West Orange.

All three also participated in the lighting of candles with honorary guests on hand for the inauguration program welcoming the Hindu temple to the community.

“We know this was a long journey for them—18 years of labor,” said Klein, who was joined by fellow members of the Livingston Township Council. “It was great to be there with the Livingston Town Council helping the new congregants celebrate their new temple opening. We wish them many years of holiness and happiness.”

Anita Thani expressed her gratitude during the ceremony, which also featured Bhajans, or songs of praise, performed by Dhruv Rathod, Sanjay Shah and Foram Shah.
