BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Bridgewater-Raritan ice hockey team finally opened its regular season Friday afternoon, losing an 8-2 decision to Hillsborough.

The Panthers scored both their goals in the first period, which ended in a 2-2 deadlock before Hillsborough pulled away.

Carl Ulrich scored for BRHS to cut the Panthers' deficit to 2-1. Ryan Rutkowski and Sean Komorowski assisted him on that goal. Bridgewater then tied it, 2-2, on a goal by Sean Komorowski with helpers from Ulrich and Nick Carvalho.
