FLEMINGTON, NJ - Hunterdon Central has announced that five students have been named National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalists for 2021 – Selam Ambaw, Alison Cedarbaum, Julia Granato, Bradyn Quintard and Vineela Ravilla.

More than 1.5 million juniors in about 21,000 high schools entered the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2019 PSAT test, which was an initial screen of program entrants. The semifinalists represent less than 1 percent of all seniors in the country, and include the highest scoring entrants in each state.

These seniors will now compete for about 7,600 National Merit Scholarships, more than $30 million, that will be offered in the spring.

Scholars are selected on the basis of skills, accomplishments and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
