Honor Yoga will be offering free yoga classes in Flemington Borough Park starting at 8 AM Saturday mornings on August 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th. The park is located on Park Avenue, behind the Historic Courthouse in Flemington.

Classes offered will comply with Governor’s orders on outdoor gatherings: All participants must remain six feet apart throughout the class and wear masks; not share yoga mats or water bottles, and must remove all trash at the end of the one-hour session. All participants must bring their own yoga mats, blocks, and any other yoga equipment they may need.

“Yoga makes every day better”, said Jeffrey Claburn, the owner of Honor Yoga of Flemington located at Hunterdon Shopping Center 17 Reaville Ave in Flemington. “I started with meditation, and ten years later started a yoga practice”. Mr. Claburn also stated that he wishes “Honor Yoga to create a strong yoga community in Hunterdon”.

Claburn opened Honor Yoga in mid-February, before being shut down mid-March for the COVID19 quarantine. Despite being shut-down, they still maintain a very active online schedule of video streaming classes and already have more than 100 members.

The idea for free yoga in Borough Park was brought to Claburn and Honor Yoga by Joey Novick, publisher of TAPinto Flemington/Raritan. "Years ago, I took a week-long yoga class at the Kripalu Center For Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts," shared Novick. "I really enjoyed the early morning outdoor yoga classes at dawn, and thought it might work in Flemington."

The free yoga class in Borough Park on Park Avenue in Flemington will be taught by Beatriz Velazquez who instructs at Honor Yoga regularly. Ms. Velazquez is a Certified Yoga Teacher and Holistic Health Coach who is Licensed from Stanford University Master Trainer for Chronic Disease Self Management.

The August 8th free yoga class is sponsored by TAPinto Flemington-Raritan and the Hunterdon Medical Center. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for the remaining classes, and if local businesses are interested please contact TAPinto Publisher Joey Novick at jnovick@tapinto.net
