PATERSON, NJ – Calling it a “tremendous achievement born out of a collective desire to make sure our students have what they need during this pandemic,” Superintendent Eileen F. Shafer announced Thursday that the Paterson Public Schools Food Services Department, along with the many volunteers who have been working at the district’s distribution sites throughout the city since school buildings closed on March 17th, have distributed more than one million student meals.

“The bottom line is our students need to be able to have nutritious meals before they can hope to achieve anything in academics, athletics, or for their community,” Shafer said, adding that the need for nutritious meals doesn’t end during the summer.

The district’s student meal distribution has been continuing through the summer months on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations.
