PATERSON, NJ -  Five Paterson men were shot, one fatally, in the area of North Main Street in the early hours of Friday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora have announced.

According to the law enforcement officials, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the at approximately 12:14 a.m. on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival responding officers discovered a potential crime scene and the four men, between the ages of 19 and 26, with gunshot wounds. The victims were immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center treatment. Four of the victims are in stable condition, however the 25-year-old male victim succumbed to his wounds and died at the hospital.
