It is very troubling to me that a Fair Lawn march to show support for police and first responders included members of a neo-Nazi organization, as well as individuals holding Republican political banners. This event was a lost opportunity to unite Fair Lawn residents for a common cause.

Supporting first responders should not be a partisan or racial issue.

Thankfully, we are entitled to freedom of speech, so politically driven and hate group banners have the right to be displayed publicly. However, it would have been best if the event organizers explained that their event was not political and politely asked the two men [in several social media photos] to step away from the other marchers.
