In the past months, many of us have cleaned out attics and home offices and compiled unwanted documents like tax and medical records, old bills, and financial statements. The Senior Center of the Chathams is holding a Paper Shred Fundraiser to help everyone de-clutter and dispose of those unwanted documents securely on Saturday, November 7 from 9:00 AM-Noon (or until the shred truck is full) at Chatham Middle School, 480 Main Street. All proceeds support the programs and services of the non-profit Senior Center of the Chathams. The suggested minimum donations are $5 per grocery bag, $10 per small cardboard box, and $15 per large storage bin or large trash bag, payable by check or cash.
The paper shred is open to the public and participants do not need to be residents of Chatham. The event will take place rain or shine and is sponsored by Barth's Market, T.M. Ward Coffee, Brian Siegel Architects, Pine Acres Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, and Sycamore Living East Hanover. Center staff and volunteers will be adhering to public health and safety guidelines at the shred. Those who bring papers to the site will be required to remain in their cars to maintain social distance.
