CHATHAM, NJ - There have been a total of nine positive virus cases through the first eight days of April, according to the latest report from the Chatham Borough Health Officer it was announced on Friday.
Of those nine, seven have been age 21 or older. The total number of Coronavirus cases reported since the start of the pandemic has reached 493 in Chatham Borough.

Chatham Borough Health Officer reported that nine (9) residents have tested positive (April 1, 2021 – April 8, 2021 ) for the COVID-19 virus for a total of 248* positive cases year-to-date and a total of 493* positive cases from the start of the pandemic. This week’s cases include residents whose ages range from 14 to 49 years of age. 0 residents 11 years of age or under, 2 residents is 12 to 20 years of age and 7 residents are 21 years or above in age.
We are encouraging parents, teens, children and business owners to continue their responsible approach to slowing the spread of Covid-19 by:
- Following social distance guidelines (indoors and outdoors) of at least 6 feet
- Wearing masks whenever you are around other people. (Including children over two years of age)
- Washing hands often
- Disinfecting frequently touched surfaces
- Staying home if you do not feel well
- Keeping the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions distanced
