RARITAN TWP., N.J. – The Raritan Township Committee unanimously approved several agreements to share municipal court services.

The agreements with the townships of Alexandria and Holland and the Borough of Frenchtown are for five years and will go into effect Jan. 1, 2021.

Alexandria Township will pay an annual fee of $30,000. Holland Township’s annual fee will be $27,000, and Frenchtown Borough will pay an annual fee of $69,500.

The service fee will increase by 2 percent for each year of the agreement for each township.

Raritan Township Administrator Donald Hutchins told the committee that the consistent feedback he has received is that Raritan has the best municipal court in Hunterdon County, and added that the township received high marks in how it implemented virtual court.

The agreements were approved at the Raritan Township Committee meeting on July 21.
