Westfield Historical Society Presents Apple Fest

The Westfield Historical Society (WHS) will present its fourth annual Apple Fest fundraiser on Saturday , October 20, from 12 to 4p.m. on the lawn of the historic Reeve House, located at 314 Mountain Avenue in Westfield. The rain date is Sunday, October 21, also from 12 to 4 p.m.

The Westfield Historical Society is a non profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing Westfield's rich heritage for future generations. The newly renovated Reeve House serves as the organization's headquarters, museum, and history and cultural center. Proceeds from the event will be used to support these efforts and community outreach programs.

Visitors to Apple Fest will have an opportunity to. participate in tours of the Reeve house and grounds, adult and children's games, pumpkin painting, face painting, barbershop music, children's art contest, mum and food sales and much more. The featured events are an apple pie contest and sales along with Grandma Ginny's antiques and collectibles sale.

This year the WHS will be celebrating the 100 year anniversary of Girl Scouts in Westfield by filling a time capsule which will be stored in the archives and "unearthed" at a future date. All Girl Scouts are honored guests and are welcome to join in the celebration by wearing their uniforms and contributing a small item, photo, or letter to
the capsule.

The WHS will also be honoring Charles Addams' 100 year anniversary by exhibiting a collection of his prints in the Reeve House. For further information, call the Historical Society's office at 908-654-1794 or visit www.westfieldhistoricalsociety.org
