WESTFIELD, NJ - Fashion photographers feature Sole Fine Italian Shoes in their photo shoots. Folks covering the Oscars wore shoes purchased at Sole in Westfield.
As described by a client of proprietor Anna Mastroianni, “Each shoe featured at Sole has its own personality. They are like little works of art.”
Mastroianni has owned Sole for 10 years. On Thursday, April 19, she is opening her doors and her heart to celebrate her decade in business, and the major introduction of her whole new line of shoes. Titled “Sole,” the new line features high fashion shoes in cutting edge styles.
“Each shoe is one-of-a-kind, and handmade in Italy,” she said. “The styling is so unique, I’ve not seen them featured in any magazine.”
“To be sure that my clientele is offered only the best and latest styles in footwear, I travel to Italy twice each year. I always search for shoe manufacturers that produce high-end styles, featuring the finest leather, at prices my customers can afford."
“I’ll never forget the special experience I had on my most recent exploration and buying trip to Italy," said Mastroianni, who is out on the floor of Sole Fine Italian Shoes, chatting to and waiting on her customers. “Workers were actually cutting shoe patterns by hand. They were stitching materials to the soles of each shoe, and individually hand-tooling each grommet to each of the different patterns. Priced from $229 each, I believe the detail and workmanship are much like treasured oil paintings.”
Sole Fine Italian Shoes actually began in a teeny shop on Prospect Street in Westfield. Folks strolling by could never forget windows filled with the most adorable little red and black patent leather shoes, along with shiny white sandals, and darling shoes, boots, and sneakers, for little boys and girls. They even sold matching purses for little ones, as well as jewelry and a bit of an assortment for grownups
Encouraged by her clients to open a store featuring shoes for the family, Mastroianni actually waited for the landmark corner store to become available. Located in the historic Arcanum Hall Building, featuring huge, wraparound windows on to East Broad and Elm Street, the shop opened in August 2009.
To celebrate the launch of the Anna Sole new line of shoes, guests are invited to attend the Launch Party on Thursday, April 19 at 9 p.m.
