Multiple Car Break-ins on Westfield's Florida Street

November 26, 2013 7:05 a.m.

A resident of the 1700 block of Florida Street reported that unknown actor(s) entered her parked motor vehicle and ransacked the interior. Nothing was reported missing at time of report.

November 26, 2013 7:11 a.m.

A resident of the 1700 block of Florida Street reported unknown actor(s) entered his unlocked motor vehicle and removed $20.00 worth of items. There are no suspect(s) at this time.

November 26, 2013 7:24 a.m.

A resident of the 1700 block of Florida Street reported unknown actor(s) entered his parked motor vehicle and removed $45.00 worth of items. There are no suspect(s) at this time.

November 26, 2013 7:28 a.m.

A resident of the 1700 block of Florida Street reports that unknown actor(s) entered her unlocked parked motor vehicle outside her home and removed $55.00 in cash. No suspect(s) at this time.

November 26, 2013 11:23 a.m.

A resident within the 100 block of Barchester Way reported that unknown actor(s) attempted to fraudulently charge merchandise in the victim’s name on an account that she never opened. Total amount of attempted charges was $611.81.

November 26, 2013 12:42 p.m.

Jeffrey Cope, 44, of Somerset was arrested in the 400 block of Summit Avenue for possession of CDS (crack cocaine) and drug paraphernalia. Cope was released with summonses and a court date on December 6, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at the Union County Superior Court.

November 27, 2013 10:01 p.m.

Nathan G. Wilkerson, 42, of Scotch Plains was arrested in the area of Prospect Street by East Broad Street on the strength of the following Westfield Municipal Court warrant #E13-19718 in the amount of $500.00. Wilkerson was transported to Headquarters where he was processed and placed into cell #1 in lieu of bail.

November 28, 2013 11:41 a.m.

Cheryl Rosania, 62, of Westfield was arrested in the area of E. Broad Street near Prospect Street for driving while intoxicated pursuant to a motor vehicle stop. Rosania was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters where she was processed and released to a sober adult.

November 29, 2013 1:59 a.m.

Daniel Rubenstein, 20, of Colonia was arrested in the area of Embree Crescent near Eaglecroft Road for driving while intoxicated pursuant to a motor vehicle stop. Rubenstein was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters where he was processed and released to a sober adult.

November 29, 2013 4:41 p.m.

A resident of the 200 block of Golf Edge found a small, clear colored jewel (a possible diamond) at the intersection of Central Avenue/E. Broad Street.

November 30, 2013 8:04 p.m.

Randy Suarez, 31, of West New York, NJ was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant out of Westfield Municipal Court ($612.00) pursuant to a pick up at Ridgefield Police Department. Suarez was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on posted bail.

November 30, 2013 9:16 p.m.

A resident of the 500 block of Kimball Avenue reports theft of their address plaques which was located on the front lawn area of their residence. The plaque is described as a green-colored cast iron plaque with gold-colored marking upon it. The plaque had an approximate value of $100.00.

December 1, 2013 7:48 p.m.

Wakiem Davis, 31, of Newark was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant out of Westfield Municipal Court ($189.00) pursuant to a pick-up at East Orange Police Department. Davis was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on posted bail.

December 2, 2013 4:39 p.m.

Francis Smith, 41, of Cranford was arrested on the following outstanding warrants: criminal warrant out of Westfield Municipal Court ($928.00); traffic warrant out of Cranford Municipal Court ($375.00); traffic warrant out of Cranford Municipal Court ($375.00), totaling $1,628.00 bail; all pursuant to Union County police dropping subject off at Headquarters. Smith was processed and placed into cell #1 in lieu of bail.

December 3, 2013 9:34 a.m.

A resident in the 700 block of Knollwood Terrace stated she made an online purchase on a fictitious website totaling $324.53. When she tried to confirm the purchase via telephone with customer service from the actual company, no record was found. There are no suspect(s) at this time.
