Evalyn Dunn Gallery of Westfield Hosts New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Fundraiser

WESTFIELD, NJ - On Friday June 8, 2012, The Evalyn Dunn Gallery hosted the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Art Strings fundraiser. Art Strings is a creative art project that raises funds for the NJSO's extensive youth and educational outreach programs. The NJSO commissioned 10 local artists to create individual works of art using violins as their canvas, drawing inspiration from a musical program or work the NJSO presented in its 2011–12 season. The violins will be displayed at select concerts and local galleries throughout the year, culminating in a raffle drawing on June 18, 2012.
Rita Kessler, a Westfield resident along with other volunteers from Art Strings were proud to display the wonderfully painted works of art in order to raise funds for the NJSO’s Art Strings project.
Also in attendance was Renee Pachucki of The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra who said, “The Orchestra is partnering with a local art gallery to promote not only the art gallery but the symphony’s fund raiser, Art Strings, painted violin raffle. This is the twelfth year we’ve been running this particular raffle and each year we generate eight to ten thousand dollars worth of revenue for the symphony that is dedicated to education and community outreach programs.” The project is run completely by volunteers who staff it from October through June.
Light refreshments were served as art lovers enjoyed the outstanding collection on display and donated money for their chance to win one of these beautiful works of art.
