West Orange Classic Film Festival Begins on Sunday, January 6

WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange Film Society, in conjunction with the West Orange Arts Council, is kicking off its Eighth Annual Classic Film Festival on Sunday, January 6, with a showing of Roman Polanski's Chinatown. The Festival will run on consecutive Sundays through February 24, 2013.  AMC Movie Theater at Essex Green, located at 495 Prospect Avenue,  will once again host the event.  Showtimes are 2:00 pm each week and tickets are $10.00 per person.  Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.fandango.com.

In addition to some great classic films, selected by audience poll and film experts, the anticipated Black Maria Film + Video Festival  will run on February 10, 2013, as part of its national tour.  The Black Maria Film + Video Festival provides a venue for award winning short films. 

After each weekly screening, notable film experts will host discussions on the films the audience just viewed. Stephen Whitty, Allen Barra, Gerard Amsellem, Boris Gavrilovic, and Michael Uslan, executive producer of Batman,  are currently scheduled to appear.

The West Orange Arts Council (WOAC) also offers yearly memberships. A 25% discount is given to members off the $10.00 ticket price. A 10% discount at Jerry's Art Outlet, along with other benefits and programs, are alsooffered. Memberships are:

Take the opportunity during these cold winter weeks to enjoy some classic films in a theater and learn about film from the experts.  The West Orange Arts Council is pleased to bring the Festival to West Orange, where, under the inspiration of Thomas Edison, film itself began.
