Redwood Elementary School Now Has Smartboards in Most Classrooms
Thursday, June 7, 2012 • 10:47am
WEST ORANGE, NJ - Redwood Elementary School has always been the school with HEART, and now it's also the school with smart. Thanks to the efforts of the Redwood PTA, teachers, school district and community, Redwood School now has 12 state of the art Smartech smartboards installed in all but three of their classrooms.
Irina Horbacz, PTA President, explained that the smartboards were purchased with the help of district Technology Director Fil Santiago. Students expressed their thanks by writing a note to the PTA on their class smartboard. Students and teachers will now enjoy the use of this cutting edge technology for years to come.
For those who may not know what a smartboard is, it is an interactive whiteboard that works similarly to a touch screen computer. A projector displays the computer's video output on the screen, and teachers and students can add their own input by touching the screen with the use of special pens that use digital ink.
