WEST ORANGE, NJ - The evening gave new meaning to "Schoolhouse Rock."

The fourth annual Millburn Schools Rock Concert took place on March 9 at the Crestmont Country Club in West Orange. The music benefit supports Millburn schools, and funds raised go towards upgrading classroom technology and providing equipment, programs and training that cannot be funded within current budget caps.

Each year the event features a different music theme. This year's theme was a "Tribute to Motown" in celebration of the R&B hits from the famous music company led by producer Berry Gordy. The Eturnity Band of New York kept the crowd rockin on the dance floor. The dance band features its founder, Tony Alston, who is a former drummer for the  "Godfather of Soul" James Brown.

Guests enjoyed not only good music but also amazing food, raffle baskets, a live and silent auction and an open bar. Auction items and money were provided by numerous Millburn and other New Jersey businesses.

The Millburn Schools Rock Concert event is backed by The Education Foundation of Millburn/Short Hills a 501(C) (3) non-profit organization established in 1993. This years concert event was organized by Debbie Rieder, Education Foundation co-president, and committee members Simon Westfall-Kwong, Lynn Farscht and Stacy Krieger.
