Two Arrested for Marijuana Possession in Chatham

April 12, 2012 7:45am Members of the Chatham Township Police Department and the Morris County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit executed a search warrant on a Thornley Drive residence   in Chatham Township. The search warrant was obtained by detectives after a three month investigation determined drugs were being distributed by occupants of the home. As a result of the investigation and subsequent search, two arrests were made. Erik Bloom age18 of Chatham was charged with Possession with intent to distribute over one ounce of marijuana, Possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and Possession of drug paraphernalia. Also arrested was a juvenile who was charged with Possession with intent to distribute over one ounce of marijuana, Possession of over 50 grams of marijuana and Possession of drug paraphernalia. Erik Bloom was released after posting $2,500.00 bail. The juvenile was remanded to the Morris County Youth Correctional Facility and is awaiting a Superior Court hearing.  

April 25, 2012 10:23pm Police received a cell phone call from a motorist reporting a single vehicle accident on Fairmount Avenue. The caller also indicated that the driver was  attempting to leave the scene. Upon arrival to the area, officers found both the caller and driver approximately one quarter mile from the accident scene. After conducting a brief roadside investigation, Patrolman Michael Giannone placed the driver, Cait Redmond, 22 of Madison under arrest for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Ms. Redmond was transported to police headquarters, processed and later released on her own recognizance. She was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Failure to report an accident, Leaving the scene of an accident and Careless driving. Ms. Redmonds 2004 CRV sustained front end damage after striking two trees and several mailboxes. She is scheduled for a first appearance in Municipal Court on May 4, 2012.
