Planning Begins for the 5th Annual Green Fair of the Chathams: Save the Date!
Planning has begun for the 5th Annual Green Fair of the Chathams, scheduled for Saturday, September 22, 2012, from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Reasoner Park (by the Gazebo) and the North Side of the Railroad parking lot. The Fair is being coordinated by a “Green Fair Team” including members of the Chatham Borough Environmental Commission, Chatham Township Environmental Commission and the Chatham Borough Green Initiatives Committee.
This year’s theme is “What You Can Do to Live a Greener Lifestyle”. Members of the two municipalities, and a variety of local and other vendors and non-profit organizations, will be on hand to discuss their commitment to better environmental practices and how the community, as a whole, can live a greener lifestyle.
There will be entertainment and fun activities for children of all ages again this year. John Bitar, the Green Fair’s Chair stated, “This year’s Fair will be the best one yet; we have a solid team planning the event and a lot of good ideas are coming forward”. Cindy Steffens, Chair of the Borough’s Green Initiatives Committee, commented, “The central location makes it easy to walk or bike to the Green Fair, and people can also easily walk between the Green Fair, the Farmers’ Market, and soccer games.“ Councilman Len Resto, Liaison to both the Borough’s Environmental Commission and the Green Initiatives Committee, praised the committee, stating “we couldn’t have a more experienced and committed team planning the Fair. I know they’ll do a superb job.”
The Committee is seeking Green Fair sponsors again this year. Sponsors expand the Green Fair offerings and benefit from extensive publicity for their organization. If you are interested in being Green Fair sponsor, or if you would like to volunteer at the event, please contact email@example.com.
The Committee indicated it will keep residents abreast of Green Fair developments through advertisements and additional press releases.
