Chatham Borough Police Arrest Kenilworth Man for DWI

On May 31 at 10:46 PM, Patrols responded to the River Grille on River Road on a report of a fight involving 3 patrons. As the patrols were arriving they observed one of the participants leaving the scene in a pickup truck at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was stopped on River Road in Chatham Township and the driver was identified as Kurt Buttkus age 42 of Kenilworth. Buttkus was very uncooperative and showed signs of intoxication. He was placed under arrest and brought to headquarters for processing. He was charged with the following offenses: DWI, Obstruction, Reckless Driving, Failing to yield to Emergency Vehicle, Driving while suspended and failure to exhibit documents. He was released to a friend pending further court action.
