T-Mobile Store in South Orange Burglarized

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ— A burglar stole a Samsung Galaxy tablet from the T-Mobile store on Sloan Street after breaking a pane of glass on the front door on April 16. The burglar alarm went off at 2:10 a.m. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
Police also are investigating an attempted break-in at a residence adjacent to the Seton Hall University campus. The South Orange Avenue resident said someone had removed the storm windows and cut a screen of two first-floor windows but did not gain entry. The incident happened overnight on April 12.
In other police news:
A burglar or burglars targeted cars on Audley Street on April 12. One victim reported that his Garmin GPS was stolen, and another said a laptop bag containing her school books was stolen, then dropped on her neighbor’s lawn. The third reported his vehicle’s glove box was ransacked but nothing was taken.
A Mountain Lakes resident reported that someone stole his 2002 Jeep from the Rescue Squad parking lot adjacent to Third Street. The theft occurred between 6 p.m. on April 16 and 11:30 a.m. on April 17.
