South Orange Middle School Students Stage Protest in Support of Teachers

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - South Orange Middle School students staged a peaceful protest this afternoon to voice their support for two teachers who did not receive tenure.
The protest, which took place immediately after school, was organized by students who wanted to express their support for World History teachers Steven Cohen and Kathleen McCort. Two South Orange police officers were on hand for the protest.
Students also posted signs of protest throughout the school, and will be attending the meeting of the South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education tonight.
