Woman Attempts Suicide Off W. Broadway Bridge

PATERSON, NJ - A 23-year-old city woman jumped off the West Broadway bridge at about 2:50 am Tuesday in an apparent attempt to kill herself, police said.

But shee landed in a shallow part of the river and suffered a broken ankle, police said.

Bystanders saw her jump and notified city rescue workers.
