PATERSON, NJ - City firre captain Michael Deluccia has not returned to work after he was involved in an on-duty crash while driving a Emergency Medical Services vehicle on January 30, according to city officials.
Fire Director Glenn Brown said Deluccia has been out sick since the incident, which happened at about 9 am near the corner of Getty Avnue and Hemlock Street.
Deluccia was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, but left before he was checked by medical staff there. "He said, 'I feel fine,'" said Brown.
Brown said he was not sure if Deluccia's medical problem resulted from the crash. Brown said the incident was a "run-of-the-mill" accident that happened when the other driver came to an abrupt stop at a light change.
