PATERSON, NJ - Firefighter John Bradle is getting a $53,967 workers compensation settlement stemming from injuries he suffered several years ago.

On Jan. 21, 2007, Bradle sustain injuries to his neck when his vehicle was rear-ended by a civilian mini-van, according to city documents.

Then, on Aug. 15, 2008 he injured his back when he was struck by an ambulance responding to a call, the documents say. At the time, Bradle was "performing his duties in front of a firehouse," according to a City Council resolution.

The council approved the settlement on Tuesday night.
