PATERSON, NJ – Federal campaign finance reports show Bill Pascrell has spent about $600,000 more than Steve Rothman in their nasty Democratic primary in the 9th congressional district.
But Rothman seems ready for a last-minute campaign spending spree with almost twice as much money left in reserve.
Election finance reports filed on Thursday show that Pascrell raised almost $1.6 million for this election cycle and spent $1.9 million. He has 704,000 left to spend.
Rothman, meanwhile, raised $1.2 million and spent $1.3 million. That leaves him with $1.3 million left in his campaign coffers.
The candidates’ remaining funds include money left over from previous elections.
