PATERSON, NJ - A 31-year-old man who shot and paralyzed the husband of a woman he was having sex with was sentenced to 60 years in prison on Thursday, according to northjersey.com.

The story said Asmar Bease is a reputed leader of the Bloods street gang and his sentence was tripled under the provisions of a law targeting career criminals.

Bease and 31-year-old Corey Cauthen, also of Paterson,  were convicted last month of attempted murder in the 2008 shooting of Alphonso Gee of Paterson, the story said.
