PATERSON, NJ – The Paterson Strings will be holding their annual spring concert on Fri., June 8 at 7 pm at Saint Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church at 174 Ramsey Street in Paterson.
The performance is free and open to the general public.
The group, formed by former Paterson music teacher Nathan Thomas, is dedicating this concert to Father Dan of Saint Bonaventure. “He opened the doors of the church to us as not only a concert venue, but also as a place for our weekly rehearsals. We still rehearse every Saturday as well as after school on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday,’’ said Thomas.
The program will include music by Bach, Handel, Schumann, and Dvorak.
“I am also pleased to have one of the original members of The Paterson Strings back with us after overcoming some very serious personal issues. It makes this concert all the more meaningful and special,’’ Thomas said. “It reminds me of the family that we truly are. In that spirit of family, I hope you will be able to join us for this special evening of music featuring the youth of Paterson.’’
