Council Approves Workers Comp Settlements

PATERSON, NJ – The City Council Tuesday night approved settlements of three workers compensation cases worth a total of more than $163,700.
Those settlements are:
- $97,944 for Anthony Camal, a city firefighter. Camel hurt his shoulder and aggravated a back injury on July 8, 2010 when a fire truck in which he was a passenger was hit by another work truck, according to city documents.
- $40,230 for DeShanta Nelson, who was an emergency medical technician in the fire department on March 4, 2009 when she was injured. Nelson hurt her back while assisting a patient on a stretcher, according to city documents.
- $25,548 for Louie Roman, a city firefighter. Roman injured is back when he stepped on equipment was pulling a fire line on July 4, 2008, according to city documents.
