05/17/12 Patrolman Andrew Diamond and Detective Donald Sretenovic arrested Paul L. Lowe, age 29 of Rahway was for Theft of Movable Property. The arrest occurred after Mr. Lowe allegedly stole an Apple iPhone from a local Delicatessen. Officers were able to track the movement of the I-phone using the GPS function after the actor fled on an eastbound train. Mr. Lowe was arrested in East Orange and the stolen phone was found in his possession. This case has been referred to the Union County Grand Jury.

05/18/12 Michael Blaszak, age 30, of Rahway was charged by Patrolman Diamond with driving while suspended after his vehicle was stopped on South Street for various motor vehicle violations. A New Providence Municipal Court hearing is scheduled.

Edwin Robels, age 31, of Bronx, NY was charged by Patrolman Diamond with driving while suspended and eight active Contempt of Court Warrants from various jurisdictions after his vehicle was stopped on South Street for several motor vehicle violations. A New Providence Municipal Court hearing is scheduled.

Detectives are investigating new graffiti that was located on the floor of the Gazebo in Veteran's Park on South Street.

Anthony Rinaldi, age 37, of New Providence was charged by Patrolman Diamond with driving while suspended after his vehicle was stopped on Springfield Avenue following a computer check that revealed his license was suspended. A New Providence Municipal Court hearing is scheduled.

05/19/12 Agatha Baskin, age 43, of Bayonne was charged by Patrolman Diamond with unregistered vehicle, uninsured vehicle and displaying fictitious license plates, after her vehicle was stopped on Glenside Avenue following a "hit" on the officer's mobile data computer. A New Providence Municipal Court hearing is scheduled.

Joseph Busch, age 24, of Warren was charged by Patrolman Diamond with driving while suspended after his vehicle was stopped on Diamond Hill Road violations following a "hit" on the officer's mobile data computer. A New Providence Municipal Court hearing is scheduled.

05/20/12 A Runnymead Parkway resident reported their decorative house number post was stolen. The Detective Bureau is investigating this matter.

05/24/12 Corporal Chad Wilson arrested Perry M. Baurer age 22, of New Providence for Driving While Intoxicated after he stopped Mr. Baurer for several motor vehicle violations and driving in an erratic manner. He was released from custody to a friend pending a New Providence Municipal Court hearing.

Detective Sean Bubb arrested Ali Bilal age 25, of Union for possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. The arrest occurred after the Detectives who were driving in an unmarked vehicle smelled the odor of burning Marijuana emanating from his vehicle on Union Avenue. Mr. Bilal was charged with Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams. A New Providence Municipal Court hearing is scheduled.
