NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Family and friends gathered at the New Providence Senior Center on Wednesday evening to honor former Lions Club President Jack Keyser and dedicate the Jack Keyser Audio Visual Memorial. Keyser's loving family, fellow Lion's Club members, and friends gathered to remember his outstanding contributions to the New Providence community. Jack's widow, Jeanette, said that it was a very special, emotional night. Regarding the dedication, she commented, "He would be very, very happy." His daughter, Leslie Keyser Day commented that he was a fabulous father to his four children and he was very devoted to his 10 grandchildren. When she addressed the guests, she pointed out that her father truly "loved life."

Current Lion's Club President, Robert Campbell, delivered the dedication address. He recognized Mr. Keyser's exceptional service and his impressive personal and professional achievements.

Jack Keyser's altruistic spirit was admired and appreciated by many. Mr. Keyser was a past president of the New Providence Lions Club and served as treasurer of the New Providence Senior Citizens. He enjoyed teaching bridge at the club and was active in their many activities. His dedication to the Senior Center was fully realized with the dedication of the Jack Keyser Audio Visual Memorial.

Peggy Brodeur, a Lions Club member and Coordinator of the Senior Center, said that people who attend the center and have hearing loss will be able to interact better and enjoy the many social events and activities because of the new audio visual improvements.

The New Providence Senior Center serves 200 or more persons each week. The Lion's Club facilitated the project, which they proudly noted stayed well within budget. The center now has two big screen televisions, internet access, remote capabilities, and improved sound technology.

After the dedication, guests were treated to refreshments and had the opportunity to see the wonderful audio visual improvements to the Senior Center.

Mr. Keyser was a role model whose positive attitude and remarkable contributions will be well remembered throughout the New Providence community and beyond.
