Police Arrest Drew Student for Marijuana Possession

On 5/9/20112 at approximately 2:31 a.m. Patrolman Sean McCarthy arrested 19 year old Justin Dennis of Blairstown. He charged him with possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute within a school zone, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ptl. McCarthy was contacted by Drew University Public Safety Officer Golddate who indicated while responding to a noise complaint at Eberhardt Hall he determined that Dennis was in possession of the narcotics. He was taken to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released pending a mandatory court appearance. $1,123.00 in cash was also seized from Dennis. Sgt. Miscia assisted with the arrest.

On 5/ 9/2012 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Patrolman Paul Papamarkos arrested 18 year old Kyle Javello of Chatham Township N.J. He charged him with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ptl. Papamarkos initially stopped Javello on Seaman Street for a motor vehicle violation. He determined that Javello was in possession of narcotics. He was taken to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released pending a mandatory court appearance. Javello was issued a motor vehicle summons for a headlight violation. A 17 year old Juvenile passenger was taken into custody and released to his parents.

On 5/12/2012 at approximately 12:43 a.m. Patrolman Kevin Boone arrested 20 year old Uzomeziem Eze of Orange N.J. He charged him with Criminal Trespass at Drew University. Ptl. Boone was contacted by Drew Public Safety officer Goldate who had stopped Eze on campus for prior trespass violations. He was taken to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released pending a mandatory court appearance.

The Madison Police Department, Fire Department, and Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to approximately 89 medical emergencies.

Madison Police Department investigated 2 motor vehicle crashes during the week.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
