Madison Gas Station Robbed at Gunpoint

MADISON, NJ - Police are seeking a suspect who robbed the Madison Shell station around 2:30 this morning.
According to reports, the lone suspect, who was on foot, approached the station attendant in the booth and asked for cigarettes. When the attendant unlocked the door to retrieve the cigaretts, the suspect put on a ski mask and brandished a hand gun.
The suspect made off with between $600 and $1,000 in cash. He is described as a heavy set black male, between 20 and 25 years old, approximately 5’2’’ with dreadlocks. He was wearing dark pants and a yellow shirt at the time of robbery. The suspect fled southbound on Prospect Street after the robbery.
The Madison Police Department was assisted by Florham Park Police, Chatham Borough Police, Chatham Township Police and the Morris County Sheriff's Department.
