Three young adults are facing narcotics charges after they were found in possession of Heroin early Tuesday morning. At 2:50 am, Officer Richard Smith was dispatched to Tall Oaks Road to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle containing several occupants.
The vehicle in question was a grey 2007 Honda CRV was located parked on the street in front of a residence. There were three occupants in the vehicle. Smith observed that the operator, 20-year-old Sean F. Secula appeared to be lethargic, had slurred speech, pinpoint pupils and fresh needle injection marks on his arm. Secula was directed to exit the vehicle and move to the rear to perform a series of Field Sobriety Tests.
Back-up Officer Joseph Antonello recovered a single glassine bag with the marking of “BLACKJACK” containing a gram of heroin on the ground under the driver’s side door. Secula, who could not perform the balance tests as instructed, was then placed under arrest initially for DWI. He was then secured in the rear of a patrol vehicle.
The other two occupants were then directed to exit the vehicle. 21-year-old Caitlin M. Jones of Hopatcong and Amanda C Griswold 21-years-old from Sparta were placed under arrest after a second glassine bag marked “BLACKJACK” containing a gram of heroin and two syringes and numerous other pieces of Drug Paraphernalia were located in Plain View.
All three were transported to Police Headquarters and processed. It was during processing that it was learned that the vehicle Secula was operating was taken without the owner’s consent.
