Driving While Suspended/Wanted Fugitives (Two Arrests)

A Kenvil woman and her passenger were arrested early Saturday morning after the car they were traveling in was stopped for speeding and an equipment violation. At 4:20 am, Officer Frank Schomp was on routine patrol traveling south on Woodport Road when he observed a 2007 silver Jeep Commando traveling north. What drew the officer’s attention to the vehicle was that the right headlight was inoperable. The vehicle was also speeding traveling 51 mph in a 40 mph.
After stopping the vehicle, the operator, 24-year-old Kimberly L. Berthold was placed under arrest after it was learned that her Driver’s License was suspended and there was an outstanding $500.00 Warrant for her arrest out of Roxbury Township. Berthold was also found in possession of a small ziplock plastic bag containing a white powdery residue.
The front seat passenger in the vehicle was identified as; 29-year-old Flanders resident, Andrew J. Heller. He was also arrested when it was found there was a $1,000.00 warrant also out of Roxbury for Failure to Appear in Court.
The couple was transported to Police Headquarters for processing. Berthold was charged with; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Suspended, Speeding, Maintenance of Lamps, Cracked Windshield and Failure to Produce Documents. Berthold and Heller were later turned over to the Roxbury Police Department. Cpl. William Moyle and Officer Joseph Pensado assisted with the investigation.
