On Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 1:11 pm, Ptl. Andrew Glaydura investigated a suspicious incident which occurred in the 600 block of Plainfield Avenue. A resident reported that a male knocked on her front door and identified himself as “Bob” and that he cut trees for a living. He advised her that he noticed a lot of trees in her backyard that could use trimming. When the resident called for her husband, “Bob” told her that he had to leave because of an emergency.
The suspect got into a black pickup truck and drove south on Plainfield Avenue. He was described as a Hispanic male with olive skin, approximately 5’10”, 150 lbs, with thick black hair. The truck was described as having 4 doors. The matter has been referred to the Investigations Division.

On Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 7:22 pm, Ptl. Ron DeSimoni arrested John Peters, 25, of Asbury and Michael Burham, 24, of Stewartsville. Ptl. DeSimoni responded to the area of Diamond Hill Rd and McMane Ave after receiving a report of drug activity. Upon arrival he observed a 1994 Honda, operated by Peters, go through a red light. Ptl. DeSimoni stopped the vehicle and spoke with both occupants, at which time he observed a few bundles of glassine folds on the rear driver’s side floor board. After recovering the folds with suspected heroin in them, Ptl. DeSimoni received consent to search the vehicle from Peters. Additional folds of heroin were then located in the center console of the vehicle. A total of 63 folds of suspected heroin were recovered along with one hypodermic needle. Both parties were brought to police headquarters for processing, and Burham was found to hold several warrants out of Warren County. Peters was processed and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia and released with a court date to appear in Union County Superior Court. Burham was processed and charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and hindering apprehension. Bail was set at $2,500.00 and Burham was lodged in the Union County Jail.
