BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Plans are underway for what is being called "the greatest reunion in township history."

Heights Fest 2012 is scheduled for Aug. 4 on Mt. Carmel Field. The event will be focused on current residents, past residents and old friends joining for a day and evening of renewing old acquaintances, rekindling relationships, said Jim Skidmore of the Heights Fest Committee.

The event also will include dancing to live music from eight great bands/musical artists with roots in Berkeley Heights, shopping in the vendor village, enjoying great food and drink from local businesses, and reliving all of the great cultural attributes that make Berkeley Heights home to so many people.

Events will include the Rampant Lions Bag Pipe and Drum Corp. (Governor Livingston alums), fireworks, area bands, Governor Livingston Reunion Groups, vendors, and a beverage garden.

Gates will open at 3 p.m. and the event will end at midnight. The rain date is Sunday, Aug 5.

Advance tickets are available from now through Aug. 3. Adults (ages 13 and up) are $29.99; ages 6-12 are $9.99, and kids 5 and under are free. Tickets also will be available at the entrance.

Proceeds from the event will go to MC Society to Little Flower, Relay for Life/American Cancer Society and other organizations.
