BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - As 300+ patrons waited Saturday for the doors to open at 1 p.m., co-owners (and brothers-in-law) Steven Guastamacchia and Stephen DeMaria couldn’t help but feel excited and overwhelmed at the same time. “We’ve been working on this idea for the past year and we are so grateful to the community for embracing us,” said Guastamacchia. “We are very happy to be bringing a different level of self-serve yogurt to this area,” added
DeMaria.

Yogoccino self-serve frozen yogurt is all natural and made from fresh and wholesome ingredients daily. They offer 24 delicious flavors including peanut butter cup, cake batter, red velvet, salted pretzel, peach pie, cappuccino and cinnabun just to name a few. With 50 different toppings that include caramel, chocolate chips, fresh fruit, granola and gummy worms…the choices were endless.

In addition to family and friends, Mayor Joe Bruno was in attendance for the ribbon cutting festivities. He mentioned how unique Yogoccino is compared to other frozen yogurt establishments. Bruno also commented, “Yogoccino brings employment opportunities to our young people in town and is a great addition to the community.”

Once you step into the store, you are greeted by the friendly staff and then make your way to wall of flavors defined by the vibrant multi-colored glass tile backsplash. This place is warm and inviting with its comfy red lounge style seating and tables for socializing. You can also take advantage of the free wi-fi and iPads while in the store which makes for a comfortable atmosphere for everyone.

There is even talk about an expansion already. Guastamacchia and DeMaria stated they have plans for a game room and café that serves breakfast and lunch right next door. When asked about Yogoccino’s expansion plans, Bruno was in full support. “This will be a tremendous enhancement to our town and will provide a safe environment not only our children but to all patrons.

New Providence resident Lisa McKnight commented that “this place is really nice” and that she was looking forward to a place to go with a friend and just have a good cup of coffee. Midge Vicendese, a Berkeley Heights resident and co-owner of Berkeley Hardware, was happy to come out and support a fellow local business. She said, “Having grown up in Berkeley Heights and seeing all the changes, something was missing. Yogoccino is going to be wonderful for all!”
