South Orange Leaf Collection to Start Monday

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – The village has moved up the start date for leaf collection to Monday, Oct. 29, village President Alex Torpey announced at Monday’s board meeting.
Collection was originally scheduled to run from Monday, Nov. 5 through Monday, Dec. 10.
The village is divided into 11 pickup zones. Residents can check on collection dates by referring to the map on the village’s website at: http://southorange.org/leafcollection/ The county will collect leaves for residents who live on a county road.
Village officials said leaves must be placed between the sidewalk and the curb. Leaves cannot be placed in the road because they create a safety hazard and can clog storm sewers. Residents who put their leaves in the road will receive a summons.
