WESTFIELD, NJ—Rain or shine, on October 18 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., The Downtown Westfield Corporation will once again sponsor its hugely popular semi-annual Girls’ Night Out in Westfield, NJ. Nearly 80 local businesses are gearing up to offer sales and discounts, refreshments, entertainment and freebies that evening.
Restaurants, including Aquaviva, Brick Oven and Limani Seafood Grill, will be offering special deals and some—including Limani—will have free entertainment that night. Live jazz will be performed outdoors by Watson, led by Phil Rinaldi. Meanwhile, “chivalrous” local male dignitaries and volunteers will greet women and open doors for them outside downtown shops.
Register for free at www.westfieldtoday.com/girlsnightout. The event has grown over the years and, following an enormous response to the last Girls’ Night Out in April, the DWC is expecting more than 1,500 women to register and even more to attend.
“The evening has become a semi-annual event that residents and local business owners look forward to,” noted Sherry Cronin, executive director of the DWC. “The event continues to grow in popularity—both for the participants and the number of involved businesses. In the spring, 32 percent of the ladies came from Westfield, while 135 New Jersey towns and seven other states were represented. We sincerely hope that this time the turnout is as large and diverse.”
Check-in will take place at 151 East Broad Street, where there will plenty of give-aways, including some by additional sponsors Barnabas Health – Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Westfield Imaging Center and The Vein Center.
