The Perks:

If you’ve got a curious kid who loves to move, Gymboree is the class to take!  I like the not-too-structured format, which leaves ample time for free play and even a little bit of mommy socializing.  My 15 month-old is a huge fan of the big, open space filled with colorful mats, tunnels, slides, balls, and more.  His favorite parts (aside from just climbing around the room like a crazed little monkey) are the parachute games and the bubbles.  He actually sits still for this - amazing!  Gymboree in Summit offers a bunch of different days, times, and class venues, depending on the age of your child.  Classes are available for children from 0-5, and at approximately $17 per class (you pay by the session) it is a fun, bonding opportunity for you and your child.  I found it very helpful that there were plenty of make-up classes too, so if you or your child is under the weather, or if you just are having one of “those days”, you can simply skip your regular class and show up at a different one.  (Just call ahead to let them know)

Gymboree is great for building confidence, coordination, making friends (for baby and mommy!) and BEST OF ALL….it guarantees a lengthy afternoon nap!!!

If you call ahead you can schedule a free trial class….so decide for yourself before you hand over your check.

The Poops:

Of course, there will be days when your child will spend the entire 45 minutes chasing an orange ball around the room and refuse to do anything else….Gee, I could’ve done this at home!

We tried out a Gymboree Music class at this location, as well.  It was a bit too “tame” for my son.  Pick the class that suits your little one’s personality!

Grown-ups, you must wear socks.  If you forget, you will have to buy a pair or leave!
